Thank you Thermo Fisher Scientific (Cramlington) for your generous donation of tea bags. Thank you also to Norman for dropping them off.

Tea bags are such an important item in a food parcel because a decent cuppa makes everyone’s day better

Burnside Primary and Nursery

As part of their studies on the United Nations Global Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Year 5 students at Burnside learned about the pressing issues of food waste and hunger. Our Operations Manager Ruth visited them and provided invaluable insight into the work we do to support families in our local community.

Inspired by this visit, the children were eager to take meaningful action. They held a non-uniform day and each student was encouraged to bring in a food item. The response was overwhelming, and together, they amassed a total donation weight of 360 kg.

A heartfelt thank you and a big well done to everyone at Burnside School who contributed to this generous effort. You’ve learned lots about some difficult issues then thought about them and found a positive way to help. What fabulous people you are.
